such schools, spread across the country from Vancouver Island to Nova
Scotia.
British and Commonwealth aircrew were also trained in the USA,
by among others by Pan Am Airways.
The trainees did not wear uniforms, nor were they subjected
to every day military life. They loved the Florida weather the
pleasant civilians and the delicious food.
Ops were never like that.
A book about aircrew training that I can recommend is:
A Thousand Shall Fall by Murry Peden.
