Apparently, you mean the name wasn't thought of in 1946. The voodoo
economics had been thought of, if you believe your own assertion.

In any event, no, it was primarily a means of building friendly
economies, the idea being that they would be strong allies in
containing a large, unfriendly power.

Silently cutting the second half of my paragraph in order to be able to make

Fabricating an argument not made in order to refute is "not an honest

In any event, you might read, among other things, Lee's _Marching
Orders_, where he goes into some of the initial rationalizations for
the Plan.

The term is "enlightened self-interest", and knowledge of this would
have save several former colonial powers much embarassment later.

There was little 'enlightening' about the Marshall Plan and a great deal

The post-war recovery rather refutes your contention there.
