"" Let's test the need for evidence with a little common sense thought experiment.

Let's say that you walk into your medical doctor's office and he tells you that he heard a story about you having cancer.

On the basis of this story he is going to put you on a severe chemotherapy treatment program.

You balk at that -- you don't believe you have cancer. You ask him: "what evidence is there that you can show me that I have cancer"?

He replies that the story about you having cancer didn't have any requirement for proof. The story claims you have cancer, and the story claims that it is a type of cancer that doesn't put on "song and dance" evidence, and the story doesn't say anything about any proof being necessary.

Now, are you going to have the expensive debilitating chemotherapy program, or are you going to demand evidence in the form of x-rays, CAT scans, biopsies, etc?

Are you going to believe in the god(s) for which there is no evidence, because catapuss says their surrounding stories don't call for any proofs to be necessary? ;-)

Are you going to assume the cancer exists, without evidence?
Are you going to assume the god exists, without evidence?

Cata-twat had no answer, except to pretend it was a strawman argment.
