Very interesting. Bevin gets to be anti-Semite because he felt
constrained by the agreements that he had signed with all parties
prior to the war.
Well no.
Bevin most certainly was an anti-Semite, appointed anti-Semites to
positions of power in mandated Palestine, made repeated anti-Semitic
comments and entered into conspiracies to give (not sell, but give)
arms to the Palestinian Arabs.
Britain did try to honor the agreements in Palestine and was exposed
to terrorist attacks by Jewish groups. Many innocent British
civilians were murdered by persons who later became "leaders" of
Israel.
Just about every British colony was ruled, after independence, by men
who'd been imprisoned by the British.
They just didn't catch the Jews very often, which was probably a good
thing as they tended to hang any Jews they caught fighting them...
Which, I reiterate, is interesting. Why didn't the British hang more
Indians?
The pretty obvious answer is institutional anti-Semitism within the
British establishment of the time.

What kind of a stupid reply was this? Do you dispute that the British
and the Arabs suffered many terrorist attacks by Jewish underground
thuggist organization (Irgun, Stern gang) and that these organizations
have no problem in killing civilians by their hundreds? Do you
actually dispute this? These thugs ended being prime-ministers of
Israel. The very funny part is that it was the British who got the
Jews there with their agreement with the Zionist leadership!! So,
your comparison with colonial struggles in Africa and elsewhere are
totally off.
Your support for Israel defeats any critical thinking that you may
possess. Why would Israel attack Egypt in 1956? Even if it felt
threatened by Egyptian moves in the Red Sea in 1967, (which may serve
as a very weak excuse for an attack), what necessitated the attack on
Syria and Jordan at a time when so much diplomacy was ongoing?
Israelis have always acted as thugs (I would like to make a
differentiation here; the "thuggish" element is in control -and has
been for some time-, but many Israelis actually resent the actions of
their own government. However, they remain a minority).
