I don't claim to be an expert on all European
castles, castles are something I have studied a good bit, both in books and
in situ, although the latter mostly in Germany(and one trip to the UK,
mostly Wales).

Hope you visited my great-whatever-grandaddy's pile in Caerphilly! :-))

I wasn't there long enough to visit ALL the interesting castles in Wales,
but managed quite a few: www.mosaictelecom.net/~erilarlo/UK.html(if I

Well, Caerphilly's just the largest castle by far in Wales and a model
of advanced defensive design!

I wasn't the one who planned the actual itinerary ; i just told my friend
who lives over there I wanted to see as many as possible 8-)
Web page mistake www.mosaictelecom.com/~erilarlo/UK.html. For the ones I
did see.
