Another one that might be appropriate, but a little more stodgy, is the
paperback Oxford Medieval History volume...it's general, affordable, and
covers the whole period, and isn't a hard read.


That and the Penguin History, edited by Keen, both sound like they might
be decent - I haven't read 'em though.


Back in the day, I read both the Oxford and Southern, but haven't really
looked at the Penguin. Still, all three would be preferable to a Book
That Should Be Lit On Fire.


You got that right. I could come up with a Pseudo Session ending with a
hibachi, Manchester and lighter fluid that I think would be pretty
hilarious. Doubt the folks in Fetzer would go for it though.

I think they'd love it!
