And yes, I was useless with both.
I've just worked out that it was pure coincidence that
my research had connected some of the other people
mentioned to the places I looked up.
They are lumping together all the people mentioned
in the folio of the place you look up so that you have to
pay £3.50 for a snippet of information and have no way
of knowing who really held land in the place you are
interested in without paying. There is nothing new here.
and it is only the roughest of guides to who was where.
What a disapointment, buy the book.

Phillimore published it years ago.
Runs a bit over $20 American on Amazon - not counting S&H. Penguin Edition.

The paperback is worth every penny.
The only snag is that the Penguin has only got a
places index not a people index so you have to read the lot
(1300 pages without index) to find out if someone owned
land elsewhere.
A better index would be a great improvement;
now where did the loriner live ?
