Unidentified Plants
With a little help I think 'Onred' could be worked out.
I have alternative spellings, Onredes, Onreodan.
B&T mentions 'Hamwyrt' (homestead plant)
A google on Hamwyrt throws up Donnerbart
(Thunderbeard) Jupiters Beard, Jupiters Plant
and lovis Caulis.
Any ideas ?
Celia
The lovis caulis could be 'King Louis cauliflower'?
It was introduced into France by the Italians and
became popular at the time of the Sun King, Louis IV.
(but this is too late as to being medieval ?)
