A PR ***-up.
If you think it's anything more sinister than that you're bonkers.
Jack Straw is also Jewish, along with Mandelson and a number of other
very
senior Labour politicians.
So when these senior loons tell us we need new thought laws to put
Muslims
and Christians on par with Jews and Sikhs what exactly do you think they
mean?
That the law should treat all religions the same.
There is no protection for "religion" under the present criminal law
William
At the moment Christians have preferential treatment as their doctrines
are
protected in English law, Sikhs and Jews have some protection from 'hate
crimes' and Moslems have no protections at all.
The "common law" offences of blasphemy and blasphemous libel you mean?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blasphemy_law_in_the_United_Kingdom
Hasn't been used since 1883 other than in civil cases by the likes of Mary
Whitehouse.
I don't think anyone has tried to sue "Jerry Springer the Opera"?
http://www.jerryspringertheopera.com/jerry_opera.html
That's not right, and what's more you know it isn't right.
Yep, every superstition should be treated the same.
Point me to the law that protects Jews and Sikhs on "religious" grounds?
Some simpering comic saying 'I can't tell jokes about Jesus anymore'
impresses me a great deal less than some Fascist thug screaming insults
at
Asians and getting off on the grounds that they're using the word
'Moslem'
as code for 'not white'.
Well "sticks and stones" should get the full weight of the criminal law
but "names will never hurt me" comes under free speech.
Yes you have told me before that the law should only protect people you
agree with, so on your planet Rowan Atkinson can tell a Muslim joke and
that's ok, but Nik Griffin can get seven years for telling the same joke?
And you see no problem with this in the "Fascist" sense? oh dear!!
So what punishment do you decree for this joke?
http://www.answers.com/topic/ann-winterton
She became opposition Shadow Rural Affairs Minister in May 2002, and was
sacked the next year for telling the following joke at a rugby club
dinner:
'An Englishman, a Cuban, a Japanese man and a Pakistani were all on a
train.
The Cuban threw a fine Havana cigar out the window. When he was asked why,
he replied: "They are ten a penny in my country'."
The Japanese man threw an expensive Nikon camera out of the carriage,
adding: "These are ten a penny in my country."
The Englishman then picked up the Pakistani and threw him out of the train
window.
When the other travellers asked him to account for his actions, he said:
"They are ten a penny in my country."'
(Seven years at the very least for this one I would have thought)
In February 2004 she had the Conservative whip (suspension from the party)
removed for telling the following joke at a private dinner (which
referenced the recent death of several dozen illegal immigrant Chinese
cockle pickers in Morecambe Bay), and refusing to apologise:
"One shark turned to the other to say he was fed up chasing tuna and the
other said, 'Why don't we go to Morecambe Bay and get some Chinese?' "
Btw, this morning I have had to listen to senior loon Clark on howparty
compulsory ID cards with a passport renewal is exactly what the loony
manifesto said, i.e. "voluntary"
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/14/id_cards_compulsory/
I tend to agree with them on this one. I don't have a problem with an ID
card.
Have a voluntary one then, and explain why you feel the need to force them
on to people who do object?
With Igor Clark's definition of "voluntary" the Lords were right to be
worried about your loons definition of "glorifying" or any other of these
vague thought laws they keep churning out wouldn't you say?
Then I have had to listen to senior Blair Babe loon, Fiona Mactaggart onhow
sex with a drunken women even if she has signed a pre nuptial permissionis
"rape".
http://www.fionamactaggart.labour.co.uk/
Certain sections of the Labour Party have a serious problem with men
having
sex with women at any time. I think we've talked before about the sops
the
Labour leadership have to throw to its left wing now and again to keep
them
in order.

William Black
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.
You appear to be trying to muddy the waters again William, tut tut :-))
Yes, Little Willy often swims the lake of SHM, paddling about with an awful
case of dysentery....
He's not proficient with his mind and thus often tries to muddy the topic of
debate.
