Picking up injured birds then had other dangers.Ah, the delights of becoming "Mum" to a jackdaw! Tell me about it!
I rescued a jackdaw and it showed its gratitude
by becoming one of the family. It shared our meals,
invited or not, and despite having been given a good
outdoor home much prefered to roost in the wardrobe.

He's hand reared, brain dead and bloody minded, especially in Spring.
Not sure if he is a plane or a human, but don't dare try and tell him he's a bird!
He's 14 now, and they only told me that he could live to 30 *after* I agreed to take him on. My biggest fear is that I'm going to be hit with a vets bill by an irate cat owner, after he has lulled the mog into a false sense of security, and then tried to forcibly drag the poor thing into his aviary.
Wouldn't be without him, though :-}
