Just curious, but there seems to be no mention of adverse sequela of
such a procedure - especially performed outside of a hospital and when
modern medicine did not exist. (It is done today - for various reasons
- cancer, etc).
The testicular area is very vascular, so pervasive bleeding was
possible and of course the possibility of infection was quite likely.
The rate of morbidity, if not the mortality, of such a procedure, must
have been considerable.
