That was all good stuff. As I said, I don't know much about this
era...

Did you see 'King and I'? Map of the world shown in this movie more or
less similar to the map of Europe from BT perspective (you have only to
replace Siam with England while preserving the scale). Quiet a few
interesting notions stemmed from this attitude. :-)

I was just summarizing what my husband had written in his book.

Just out of a pure curiosity, did he REALLY wrote that cavalry
dissapeared
(or lost its value) after Crecy?

Of
course, he isn't here to defend his thoughts,

Well, why don't you presuade him to do this?

but you did do a nice job
destroying them!

-Archdurke Ferdinand had been shot!
-Well, it's his own fault: don't be an idiot and let people shoot you!

:-)

Well...that was my loosy-goosy interpretation late at night and off the top of my head....His argument was more complicated than that...
Prior to AirForce, my husband was an armoured officer and since his family breeds/trains standardbreds for racing, he does has a very strong 'cavarly' bent, (his mess boots still have spurs on them) so he didn't discredit them for good... I fear I didn't do justice to his comments, but if you can find the book: "Changing Face of War" there is some good stuff in it.
