Yo; Mountain Man!!!!

You're doing it all wrong. Pick youself up,
dust yourself off, take a deep breath &
start again -- this time at the begining.
Here's a remarkable inscription, confirming
some key points on the bible (N.T.), that
you can read about on many a "Christian"
website:
: "Pontius Pilatus, Prefect of Judea, has
: dedicated to the people of Caesarea a
: temple in honor of Tiberius."
Here's one such "Christian" website:
http://www.allaboutarchaeology.org/pontius-pilate-faq.htm
The photo on the web page is a "recreation,"
but even so you must notice something of
a problem with it. That is to say, there doesn't
appear to be nearly enough text on the stone
to account for all the words attributed to it.
Here's a second webpage which, if compared
to the first, might start to get those juices
flowing:
http://www.bible-history.com/empires/pilate.html
NOTE: Even this second website takes many
liberties -- the text in Parentheses doesn't actually
exist.
What's unusual about the example of this stone?
Nothing. Nothing at all. Desire is evidence, conjecture
is fact. That's how "biblical archaeologists" are.
They can't help themselves. They want to believe,
they need to believe but they just can't manage
any faith. So they have to invent object that they
can see & touch -- cling to -- to fill that void in their
spiritual heart.
Start with the fakes. Point out the forgeries, the
creative interpretations, and then move on to
challenging them on less obvious issues.
Establish the pattern. As things stand you're asking
them to throw away what they believe is established
fact. What you've got to do is show them that, far
from unusual, misidentifications -- and out right
lies -- are common, else you come across (to them)
as some lunatic fringe.
