I am an amateur history interested individual.
There are basically two ways of denoting historic time in English.
AD and BC. AD, Anno Domino and BC, Before Christ.
CE och BCE. CE, Common Era or Christian Era and BCE, Before CE.
In both these systems year zero is absent, ie 1CE comes directly after
1BCE.
Someone has presented an alternative, CCE, Common Civil Epoch together
with plus and minus signs.

With this notion year zero is counted. This has some compatiblity
issues; this means that CCE 100 = 100 CE, but CCE -100 = 101 BCE, which
is awkward for historic compatiblity issues and will probably cause
confusion.
Therefore I propose the following.
AZ is used as a label to indicate Absent Zero. Plus and minus signs are
used to indicate CE and BCE respectivlely.
Thus AZ 100 = 100 CE and AZ -100 = 100 BCE.
The AZ will be a reminder that year zero is absent in the counting.
This is thus a compatible system that does not cause any confusion with
the historic CE and BCE. It is also religion neutral - important for
the majority of non-christians in this world.
Um... no it isn't.... you are still dating by the alleged dob of Christ.
birth of Jesus Christ; but non-christians, eg secularized citizens,
muslims, budhists,etc are dating simply because it has become a
standard - NOT becuase it is the date of birth of Jesus Christ;
especially since it is probalby true that Jesus Christ never has walked
the Earth ever.
I propose a simpler method which is religion free. Dating by Olympiads where
the first Olympiad is in 776 BC and 2005/2006 is the first year of the 696
Olympiad.
Before Olympiads dating can refer to BCT and FCT ie. Before the capture of
Troy and From the capture of Troy where 1 FCR is July 1 1181 BC and 1 BCT is
the July 1 1182 BC. No religion there either.
Oh and for complete neutrality we need a new time system to replace
Greenwich Mean Time which stinks of British colonialism so I suggest we use
OCT, Omphalos Constant Time 1200 OCT is at midday at the Omphalos at the
Temple of Apollo are Delphi.
It is obvious from your attemt to ridicule that you failed to see the
real obvoius reason for the need of a new standard; that of simplyfying
with + and - and yet to be coherent with existing standards.
