Well if they show them using the 'sponge on a stick' they'll really have

The communal toilets I have seen were just a large open building, not 2
seperate buildings or 1 building seperated in half by a wall with 2
seperate entrances.
In smaller homes and apartments they were in the kitchen, so it's not
like the Romans were shy :).
The toilet at Oplontis (Villa of Poppea) is U-shaped, maybe a 10 seater
(the seats are gone) with a large stone brine basin for the
stick/sponges.
There is a wall within this room and on the othersite there is a floor
trough urinal.
It's the 1st urinal I've ever seen, anyone know of any others?
I had to laugh when I saw it though, it's *believed* to be the villa of
Nero's 2nd wife Poppea. Perhaps she got fed-up with men peeing on the
toilet seats all her life (it's not like they could be lifted-up) and
had urinals put in :). Regards, Walter
