Your message signifies that SSA does actually work to maintain this
database, however long it takes, and that would be good news for the
genealogy crowd. Maybe they are now matching up official death
records to the database, or something like that.
This could mean we might see a whole new batch of people in there
that were not included previously. [I can hope, can't I?]
You mention the funeral home told you there was a law requiring them
to report the death. Does anyone know if this is a state or federal
requirement? I am sure I read this somewhere, but now I cannot find
the source. If someone can help me out here, I'd appreciate it.
