Of course I know there were other genealogists.
I spent twenty years tracing my French Canadian lines back to France (or at
least to early Quebec), except for a few pesky ones that no one seems to
have traced adequately yet.
Josephine Lalande dit Latreille married John Wood in 1843
They married at St Luke's Anglican in La Prairie and because this wasn't a
Roman Catholic church they didn't list the parents names! Very naughty.
However I had all the baptismal records for their children, and they
provide the godparents but of course they don't specifically state that these were
aunts and uncles. I *think* her parents might have been Augustin Lalande
and Clotilde Martin, but then they could also have been Luc Lalande and
Louise Martin!
Anyway that's not medieval. I have had these details on the web for a
decade and have never heard from anyone else descended from these people.
