There are centuries-long lines of royal succession with complete
chronology (name, birth, succession, death), for several city-states.
What I don't know is how well the genealogical interconnections have
been dissected. This brings up the major problem - it is all so new
that I am unaware whether the information has been disseminated beyond
the specialty journals of the field into a more accessible, popular
format. I have seen this kind of detailed information for the Inca,
but not the Mayan rulers. (If anyone is interested, there is a Nova
on Hulu that gives a pretty good summary of the historiography.)
