some months ago, Francisco Tavares de Almeida reported that these Girao (of El Frechoso) are agnatic descendants of lords of Carrion, of stem Giron

I am wondering, were the lineage named 'Giron', really lords of Carrion ?

it should be reminded that the Giron do not seem to claim origin from the Banu Gomez lords of Carrion.
