Because George Washington (or 'of Wessington') has been by some genealogists constructed to be an agnate of the royal dynasty of Dunkeld (its Northumbrian - Lothian cadet branch... - though possibly illegitimate line):

thusly, I am certain, some monarchists would construct the Line of Succession to the throne of America on basis of agnatic descent from George W's patriline.
