Re: Questions regarding different genealogical societies

Dear Kathy ~

The Order of the Crown of Charlemagne (OCC) is a reputable group. I
know the President, Registrar General, and Genealogist all
personally. While you might think the membership dues are high, but
they are actually quite reasonable. As the saying goes, you get what
you pay for. Hereditary societies are no different. If you want it
all free, then such groups simply wouldn't exist.

As far as proving descents from Charlemagne goes, that is usually no
problem, provided you have a gateway ancestor with valid royal
ancestry from any of the European houses. It's the period BEFORE
Charlemagne that things get murky. From Charlemagne forward, it's
much easier.

If you're interested in joining OCC, I invite you to contact me by
private e-mail. I'll be glad to answer any of your questions you
might have about the group.

Sincerely, Douglas Richardson
