Re: Adam de Swinburne and his wife Idonea de Graham

Dear John Watson ,
Many thanks, As You have doubtless seen my
mis- named post on " Adam de Chollerton and his wives" there is amble evidence
that Christiana (Swinburne) Widdrington was the daughter of Margaret of
Lanerton, Cumberland and not Idonea de Graham. As to who this lady apparently
deceased before 1291 and was possibly a scot in origin as in the late 1350s
John Strivelyn asked King Edward III for certain of his wife`s lands in
Scotland and mention is made of Barnaba being a member of Robert Brus` household
though her affiliations seem to for the greater part to have lain with Baliol
and the Comyns. perhaps she did espouse Brus` cause especially 1308-1314 but
if so why did They go to England and join Gilbert Middleton`s northern
revolt againest the English king`s lackluster campaigning ?
Sincerely,
James W Cummings
