Corrections/identifications welcome.

Anne and Sewch Shirley were surely (pun intended) Anne and Sanche, two
of the known daughters of Ralph Shirley, Esq. (died 1466), of Lower
Ettington, Warwickshire, Wiston, Sussex, etc., by his wife, Margaret
Staunton, for whom see Douglas Richardson, Plantagenet Ancestry
(2004).

Misguided genealogists often turn the name Sanche into the Iberian
form, Sancha, as that sounds more exotic. However, in England the
name was Sanche, not Sancha. At least that's what I've observed.
And, in this case, the name has been rendered Sewch.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
