King's Kinsfolk: Emperor Konrad III's kinsman, Henry, Count of Namur

Emperor Konrad III (died 1152) referred to Henry I, Count of Namur and
Luxemburg (died 1196), as his kinsman ("nostra munificentia vir
illustris noster utique consanguineus Henricus comes Namurcensis")
[Reference: Monumenta Germaniae Historica (Diplomatum Regum et
Imperatorum Germaniae 9): 130-132]. The two men were related in the
4th and 4th degrees of kindred, or if you prefer 3rd cousins, by virtue
of their common descent from Guillaume III-V, Duke of Aquitaine, Count
of Poitou, died 1030, as charted below:

1. Guillaume III-V, Duke of Aquitaine, Count of Poitou, died 1030.
2. Agnes of Poitou, married Henry III, Holy Roman Emperor.
3. Henry IV, Holy Roman Emperor, dioed 1106.
4. Agnes of Franconia, married Friedrich I, Duke of Swabia.
5. Konrad III, Holy Roman Emperor, died 1152.

1. Guillaume III-V, Duke of Aquitaine, Count of Poitou, died 1030.
2. Guillaume V-VII, Duke of Aquitaine, Count of Poitou, diued 1058.
3. Clemence of Poitou, married Konrad I, Count of Luxemburg.
4. Ermesinde of Luxemburg, Countess of Luxemburg, married Godfrey,
Count of Namur.
5. Henry I, Count of Namur and Luxemburg, died 1196.

Those newsgroups members descended froim Milicent of Rethel, wife of
Robert Marmion, will note that Henry I, Count of Namur & Luxemburg, was
Milicent's own uncle, he being the half-brother of her mother,
Elizabeth of Namur.
