Thomas Costain, states that the husband of Richenda [de Longchamp] was
"Constable of Dover" at the time that Richard created his half-brother Geoffrey
Archbishop of York. And that this is how Richenda was able to hold up (and
imprison) Geoffrey.
Was Thomas le Despencer the Constable of Dover ? Or did Richenda have a
first husband?
