Thanks again, Mardi. Chronologically, it must be the elder Jordan who
is called Gervase's nephew. I wonder why both uncle and nephew were
called "de Cornhill"? Presumably Agnes, Gervase's wife, was an
heiress, in which case she would have been without brothers. And she
and Gervase clearly had children, so Jordan is unlikely to have taken
his surname from having also succeeded to the property.
