US Consular marriage 1944 details sought for Hauser

I was told by an uncle that my great-uncle Simon HAUSER was born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1891/2, went to Guatemala in ca 1924, later to Canada & then Syracuse, NY, married his nurse Sally [surname unknown], & died ca 1970.

I now have found an Ancestry collection of events for a Simon Hauser born in Cardiff 1891-2, a jeweler & pawnbroker in Cardiff at least 1941-4, was on a ship
from England to New York in 1946 aged 54, and aged 57 born in Cardiff he married
an Elgitha Vernard MEIR in San Salvador in Dec 1944, died in Fayetteville, NY, in Apr 1971 4 months before his wife died. Some of this is similar to what I was told,
El Salvador is near Guatemala and Fayetteville near Syracuse, but the marriage data
from the US Consular Reports does not give Simon's parents names; without more details how can I be sure that this Simon is my relative? Ancestry's site says
"<http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=1664>U.S., Consular Reports of Births, 1910-1949 Contained in this database are birth reports from U.S. Consulates
abroad b...ords contain detailed information about individuals including birth dates and locations; parents' names, ages, birthdates, and locations" but in this case not all this info, can any more be found? I have not found the alleged marriage to "Sally" which does not sound like "Elgitha".
