Just to finalize search for the elusive "Schultebuda"
This appears to be Griskabudis, known in the past as Gryszkabuda.
Place is located on the road between Pilwiszki and Szaki (currently:
Pilviskiai and Sakai).
BTW "Buda" in Polish tanslates as shack

In looking at some ships' manifests for relatives I came across a town
named Schultebuda. I've never heard of it and couldn't find it on
JewishGen or Google or Ancestry. Does anyone know where this town is/was?
In the Ellis Island database, this town is shown only in the records of
Sumberg family of five people arriving on July 5, 1892 on the steamer
"Augusta Victoria" sailing from Hamburg.
Curiously, family is identified as US citizens, where on the scanned copy
of the original manifest they are shown as Polish citizens and residents of
Poland.
As to the name "Schultebuda" it is subject to an interpretation. There are
many places in Eastern Europe, notably in Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and
Russia proper that contain word "buda" in the locality name.
