Often I find it easier to locate early NY immigrations at the
original Castle Garden site.

The nice thing is that you can place a wild card anywhere
in any field, ie. N*, *ne, *fr*d etc. I used first name
n* and last name g*o*r*d* as this would cover GOTT and GOF
and ended up with:

Nochem GOTTFRIED
Arrived 24 Nov 18 on the Virginia
Last Residence KOSLOALDEN, Poland

*Note, you have to click on the name to get more information.

The others with him were

GOTTFRIED ELKA 31 F 24 Nov 1891 KOSLOALDEN
GOTTFRIED NOEFF 3 M 24 Nov 1891 KOSLOALDEN
GOTTFRIED REBECCA 7 F 24 Nov 1891 KOSLOALDEN
GOTTFRIED SIMON 9 M 24 Nov 1891 KOSLOALDEN

On Ancestry.com they are indexed as

Elpa Gottfried
Noahewe Gottfried
Siman Gottfried
Rsesse Gottfried
Wafff Gottfried

On the Hamburg lists they are indexed as
and last residence of Koslawaraden, Russia

Elka Gottfried
Nochen Gottfried
Simon Gottfried
Rebecca Gottfried
Wolff Gottfried

I hope this is your family. If not, you can search further on Castle Garden
for other entries.

Shalom Shalom,
Yehudah ben Shlomo
