Come to the
28th IAJGS International Conference
on Jewish Genealogy
Chicago August 17-22, 2008 www.chicago2008.org
Thanks to the wonderful responses I got from England, I just received a copy of
the birth certificate of my uncle, Samuel RUDERMAN, born November 28, 1904 at
20 Greystoke Avenue.
His father is listed as Harriss Ruderman and his mother was Golde Ruderman,
formerly SAPIRO. Harris is listed at 30 Westgate Hill Terrace, Newcastle on this
form that was registered on January 9, 1905. Harry was a cabinet maker.
Would anyone know what type of buildings were at 20 Greystoke Avenue and 30
Westgate Hill Terrace, Newcastle in 1904/05?
I am still trying to find out why my family was in Newcastle. I know that they came
to New York in 1905, but I have not found immigration records yet, any idea from
which port they may have sailed.
