My name is Larry BINENBAUM and I am looking for any information
about Janko BINENBAUM, the renowned Turkish musician, famous opera
conductor and composer of many songs and choruses.
He was born on December 28, 1880 in Edirne, Ottoman Empire (formerly
Adrianople, a vilayet of European Turkey) and which is today Edirne,
Turkey. Around the time of his birth there were about 15,000 Jewish
people living in Edirne. This town is very close to the borders with
Greece and Bulgaria (only several kilometers away).
He studied in Munich and worked as an opera conductor in Regensburg,
Hamburg and Berlin. He composed an opera, a ballet, three symphonies,
two overtures, two violin concertos, chamber works and many songs and
choruses.
He died on February 4, 1956 in Chevreuse (an area south of Paris),
France.
Since there is a chance that I am related to Janko BINENBAUM, I am
looking for any information about his father, siblings, wife or
children. This person is being researched by Larry BINENBAUM living
