Hello,

I would like to add a comment to Hank's post about using various
Internet networks like Facebook. These are most definitely the
rage amongst the younger generation. Anyone with a teenager at
home, is all too familiar with these sites. It is apparently
attracting people of all ages, but the majority of the users are
clearly young.

One advantage of not only using the wonderful Shtetl Link project,
but Facebook and similar sites, is that we might spread the
genealogy bug to the younger generation. It would be wonderful
to get more young people involved in genealogy or at the very least,
interested in learning something about their roots.

Unless they develop a passion for genealogy at a young age, which
sadly is mostly the exception than the rule, it's unlikely a 16 year
old who has to do a project on his family tree; or a 25 year old who
happens to be curious about a town grandma mentioned, is going to
look up Jewish Gen on the Internet. They might however, be
intrigued to find this information on networks like "Facebook."
We have a lot of competition out there on the Inernet attracting
our young folk, so I say, lets take this show on the road!

Thanks.
Shelly Levin
