Hope everyone is well in JewishGen Land!!!!

My Mother has told me that we had a relative in Belfast, Northern Ireland,
called Binnie RUMMEL COWAN born 1913 (married to a Solly Cowan born in
Dublin Ireland ) and her siblings, Henry, Fanny and Bennie RUMMEL

Binnie is the daughter of Minnie LAPEDUS RUMMEL born Schud, Kovno, Lithuania
ca 1899 and the Grandaugther of Binyamin LAPEDUS b. Schud, Kovno, Lithuania
ca 1860

First of all, if there is anyone out there who knows of any of the RUMMELL
siblings or their descendants, I am very keen to persue this branch of the
family

Secondly how can I find out the modern day name for Schud? Is it possibly
Skuodas? How does one normally find out the modern day names for shtetles
besides asking on LitvakSIG. Is there a website to show us?

My LAPEDUS family are from Vieksniai, Lithuania which is close to Skuodas,
so I am hoping that Schud is Skuodas.
