Manitoba has placed its vital records on line, at least an index. A number of
people are missing. I notice that many records are dated much later than the
actual date of the event, such as births in the 1900s being listed in the 1920s.
Does this perhaps mean the missing events were never recorded?

There are all sorts of reasons why events might not have been recorded, or were
recorded incorrectly. Also the people transcribing the written records for the
index made mistakes. There are many records where "Given Names" is "PAGE 2" and
the "Age at death" is 999. I thought my ggm's death record was missing; it turns
out she was there, but under the surname ISRACLOVICH instead of ISRAELOVICH.
