Same Name for Siblings

hello,

my gggf's brother's name was Avraham Yitzhak.
I have found someone who might be another brother,
however,I'm having questions because of the name: his
name was Yitzhak Isaac.

I'd like to know if parents gave more than one child
the same name. would they name after different people
(2 relatives both named yitzhak) or would they give a
name twice for the same person?
