I've already responded privately to this request, but thought my methodology might
be useful to others on the list.
Steve Morse's excellent one-step search tools -- http://stevemorse.org/ -- would be
my starting point. Here are the steps I would follow:
1. Find possible relatives of Kurt and Lotte Heckscher using Steve's "Finding
Birthdays and Related Persons in One Step" tool --
http://stevemorse.org/birthday/privateeye.html
2. Identify possible addresses and telephone numbers of those relatives using
Steve's "Finding Birthdays and Addresses in One Step" tool --
http://stevemorse.org/birthday/zaba.html
3. Determine which telephone numbers (and addresses) are probably still current
using a reverse look-up search engine, such as AT&T's AnyWho service --
http://anywho.com/qry/wp_rl
4. Depending on the age of the person or persons I've found, I might also run
their names through Steve's "Searching the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) in
One Step" tool -- http://stevemorse.org/ssdi/ssdi.html -- to see whether they may
have passed away recently.
This approach has worked wonders for me in identifying and contacting relatives of
living or recently deceased individuals (in some cases,"recently" can go back as
far as 20 years).

I'm seaching for the family of Lotte HECKSCHER, born 1931, Mar 5.and dead 2001,
Oct 18. in San Franzisco. Her husband was Kurt Heckscher, born 1926, Sep. 22 and
dead 2004, Dec. 30. Maby they were related with my uncle Alfred KATZ but I don't
know where I can search.
