Some one has rightly pointed out to me that the NY Times article I referred to pertains to the Teutonia Hall in Yonkers and not in Manhattan. There have been many Teutonia Halls across the nation. I still stand my my second statement in my earlier posting that the building located at 66 Essex Street (in Manhattan) was called Teutonia Hall in 1909 according to the Bromley map of that year.
