Id like to thank everyone for there replies here as there are to many to
respond too. In answer across the board of intrest to other PAMPEL name
descendants ive had a couple of really intresting slants on the name.
One is a fascinating take on the acronym PA"M as stands for Peru ken
macher(Toupe/Wig maker) the other of great intrest to me is that there was
also a Pampel family in Germany not related to Isaac Pampel family of
Amsterdam.
Any info on this clan would a great help.
The Isaac Pampel of Amsterdam who adopted the name 1812 was the son of
Isaac David and Judith Isaac. Mine are married in 1794-1805 in London and
father is Ansel Asser Ha Levie Pampel he would be born about 1750 at least
50 years before the Amsterdam adoption. Going by this and names i cant see
a link other then this name.
The German side would be very intresting. They were married in the Great
Synagogue and i believe at that time would be German or Dutch by the
average,The other side of the family is Sephardi way back direct from
Portugal and Italy.
All most helpful and appreciated.
