Dear community,
Thank you to everyone who responded to my inquiry on New York State divorce
decrees! The consensus was that the only legal grounds for divorce in New York
State during this period was adultery and that the divorce decree was not
available to anyone but the divorcing parties and their attorneys for one
hundred years.
