Could anyone please help me ewith the location of the townland of Patches
around the town of Clifden in Co. Galway? My family research has gotten
me this far but I can't locate on the best map I own. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.-PJS

Hello.

The townland of 'Patches' is located in the parish of OMEY, so if you can
find the
parish map for Omey, or you may need to consider buying the map from:
http://www.pasthomes.com/
or try contacting Clifden main website, they may provide you with a map?.
http://www.clifdenchamber.com/index.htm

Omey parish is actually two locations because the island of Omey forms
part of the
parish and is accessible on foot at low tide.

The Griffiths Valuation for Patches had the following surnames during the
period 1848
to 1864:
Lynch, Price, Staunton, Toole.

Good luck.
Mike.
