Re: Surnames KOBS, ROESKE, Stettin

Have you checked the IGI at <www.familysearch.org> for data from St. Georgen Kirche in Berlin? Baptisms 1819-1868 have been extracted and are in the IGI. Microfilms of Baptisms and Marriages can be ordered and read at your local Family History Center. I have a photo from a publication of St. Georgen before WWII. It was destroyed in the war, and a new building was erected. I have a photo of that also, which I took. My Neumann gggf was baptized there in 1831, and his parents were married there in 1829, thus my interest. .

Hallo, I seek KOBS relatives and information on any family history or origin
in Germany/Prussia. Seeking JOHANN AUGUST KOBS (born 1840), supposedly a
coachman before going to America and settling in Michigan. U.S. records show he
first married a Roeske then Asmus. I can trace lineage to northeast
Germany/Prussia. Have heard he came from a large family, but only for certain of another
brother and two sisters who also went to America; possibility of Wisconsin
brothers/sisters, but need data as proof. Have found some online data which require
lookups. Any info from Stettin, Gross Friedrichsberg, Brandenburg, St Georgen
in Berlin Stadt, social climates and the occupation of coachman in the middle
to lattter 1800's or other helpful info is appreciated.
