French Pioneers in Quebec
Two books ("Old Mobile by Jay Higginbothams and "The Founding of Mobile" by
Hamilton) state that among the immigrants from Canada to the first
settlement of Louisiana (now Mobile, Alabama) arriving on the third trip in
1701 on the ship "Renommee" was a "Quebecois" named Pierre-Rene LeBoeuf. It
is reported that this LeBoeuf was a Canadian soldier and on the King's
payroll for five years until 1706 when Bienville was forced to dismiss him
from the payroll.
Seek any info on this man's background/family in Canada.
