Steve Hayes' solution to the indexing of paper files seems quite
attractive
but the idea of sequential numbering would not fit well with my expanding
collection of lever-arch files, organised in categories, which are often
reorganised as they overflow. However, I would like to try it, if anyone
can suggest a Windows alternative to RDF.
Which WIN? RDF ran under the DOS shell/command prompt under XP, which
means it'll run in the same place under everything lower. Haven't tried
in under WIN7.

I meant Windows XP. I sort of assumed that RDF wasn't available any longer,
hence my request for a current alternative.
Roger.
