I recently upgraded to the latest version of Legacy, and now every time I
start it it displays a message:
"Refinements have been made in the relationship calculator which require
a
restet of the relationship terms for this family file."
I can understand the need to do that once after upgrading, but why every
time
the program starts?
The Tools > Set Relationships creates an .Rc3 file. Try deleting this file
and then re-run Set Relationships. I am running the latest Deluxe version
(7.4.0.45) and I have not experienced this problem. I use this function
often and the latest version is much improved. I regularly delete the .Rc3
and the .TC file as well as the main .ldb files, as I frequently re-import
my Gedcom file.
I think I've found a partial cause/cure.
The file is set to open with my wife and me, so I can easily follow back to
either side of the family, but the relationships are calculated from one of
our kids, so that they show up on both sides of the family.
If I go down to my son, after a second or two he is shown as "Sel" and then
the relationships are shown.
Earlier versions did not seem to require that it open with the person from
whom the relationships are calculated, but this one seems to require it.
