There was a Margaret Collins, aged 42, married 24 years, living at 41

listed as the Head. The census image says that she had 9 children - 5
still living and 4 dead.

Could that be part of the right family?

Hallo

Gosh that was quick. Thank you. It certainly looks like the right
family.

Henry James is the right age. So is Margaret and the length of time
she's
been married.

Ivy is a new member of the family I didn't know about before.. That's
six
of the nine and two of those I already knew about died when they were
under 5.

Why is Margaret shown as the Head of the family but married?

If Henry John Albion was in an asylum or hospital and was listed
under just his initials, how would I find him? There doesn't seem
to be any way to do a search like that.

I'm a step further forward. Thank you again for your help.

Could Margaret actually be widowed rather than married despite what it says? There are several deaths between 1900 and 1911 of people called Henry John Collins, of approximately the right age. [I know you have a 'possible' further marriage for him much later, but how strong is the evidence for that?]

Alternatively, they could be living apart but not formally divorced. I wonder whether Henry is Ivy's father. Was there a big gap between Ivy and the immediately previous child?

Assuming Henry was still alive, do you know from previous censuses what his occupation was? This might help to narrow down the potential candidates.
