show, because as far as FreeBMD is concerned W. Glamorgan didn't come

Err, went *out* of existence. The pick list marks dates from 1935 to
1974. From GenUKI;

WEST GLAMORGAN REGISTRATION DISTRICT
Registration County : Glamorganshire
Created : 1.1.1935 (out of Gower, Swansea, Pontardawe and Llanelly districts).
Sub-districts : Gower; Gower & Llwchwr; Llwchwr; Neath; Pontardawe; Port Talbot.
GRO volumes : 11a (1935-46); 8B (1946-74).

In fact if you do a search using W. Glamorgan as the search criteria all
you get are BMD's that are registered in Swansea - to see this particular
death you have to search using Glamorgan as the criteria. Most strange

Worked for me, searching for "Death, HONE-Catherine, West Glamorgan (from
the RD List) Mar 1942 to DEc 1942". There is an error in the transcript,
though. The Registration District is transcribed as "W. Glamorgan." but
should be "W. Glamorgan", i.e. no full stop after Glamorgan. Although
that shouldn't be a show stopper, IME.

Maybe you conducted your search before the team that assigns alternatives
for RD names got to work on this particular death, or used the the wrong
volume number, if you used one.
