No, I was referring to the actual index held by the GRO, a large part
of which has been computerized for many years.

Only the modern stuff. Any older stuff which may have been computerised
was likely in a different format.

There has been, for at least the last 8 years, a process of converting
many of the older microfilmed records to computer.
