As an aside, there's a strange aspect of modern culture - the idea
that HOT weather = good. I think it's mainly a product of the modern
tourist industry and the association of heat with leisure. In the old
days warm was considered nice and hot at least as unbearable as cold.
Personally, I'm still reluctant to believe that people have really
changed that much - I think they just forget how truly unbearable real
heat is.

It would be interesting to hear our ancestors' views on the subject -
yearning for heat seems hard to find in historical accounts. In the
old days, people had to labour in the sun and being outdoors had low
social status. A suntan was simply social death, dahlings.
