Looks like they didn't bother to marry.

Something is very wrong here. The name Holloway barely exists in
Northumberland in that period. The 1851 shows only Irish immigrants, and
the 1861 shows no Northumberland-born male Holloway older than 7. There is
no suitable birth on FreeBMD, either.
