Yes, Lithographic Printer. I'd read it as painter, wanted to type printer, and promptly typed painter! Silly m
I think you were right first time! Looking at all the other instances of a and r on that image (and even allowing for the mark through the word) it definitely looks as though it was written as Painter. My suspicion is that the Enumerator mis-read what was written on the original form.
I know it is best practice to record exactly what is written, not what you think it ought to be, but I must admit that in the case of occupations and placenames I do correct obvious mistranscriptions by the Enumerator. (Definitely not in the case of names, or if there is a doubt.)
